"Amish Afternoon"
I admire the Amish lifestyle. I enjoy seeing their picture perfect farms, beautiful flower gardens, horses and buggies, and rosey cheeked children with the shy smiles. All these are inspirations for paintings. This is my interpretation of an Amish farm. While father unhitches the horses and leads them to the barn, one of the sons is bringing water for mother's flowers. Grandma and her helper are sitting comfortably on the porch snapping beans and watching the neighbors pass by. Everyone has their chores to do and seem to do them cheerfully. Of course, the littlest ones are at play. A very happy and peaceful place.
