To me, Thanksgiving Day is for counting your blessings and is a day of family togetherness. I was inspired to paint this image because of a wonderful reunion that brought my scattered family home a few years ago. In my painting, the day is cold, crisp, and clear. The families are bundled up and snug in their sleighs as they travel homeward over the snowy hills. The excitement builds as they near to Grandma's house, knowing the warm welcome and bountiful feast that awaits. Ummm!...I can smell the aroma of roast turkey and pumpkin pie!
